Amanda Funk, LCSW - Clinical Director

Works with: Ages 10+
Specializes in: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Behavioral Issues, Self Worth Issues, and more
Offers: Telehealth and In-Person
Favorite Types of Therapy: DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), and Play Therapy

I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2010 and a Master’s Degree, also from Utah State University, in 2014, but am always looking for opportunities to keep learning and growing.

I have experience working in elementary and junior high schools, addiction treatment centers, crisis centers, therapeutic clinics, and facilitating a variety of psychoeducational groups. Throughout my career, I have developed therapy groups for different ages and for addressing different issues. I strive to use my therapeutic experiences to help clients with regulating emotions and building relationship skills. I believe in a strength-based perspective that helps clients empower themselves in setting and reaching their identified healing goals. I believe that if we can help youth develop life skills, they will be able to engage in life in healthier ways.

Outside of work, you will find me loving the great outdoors. I love to run, hike, swim, bike, wakeboard, snowboard, rock climb, golf, and, most recently, yoga. If I get the chance to do any of these things with my sons or my dogs, then I am doubly happy engaging in my hobby/self-care activities.

Sarah Winger ACMHC Family Case Manager

Works With: All Ages
Specialization: Family and Couples

I’m glad you’re here. I’m deeply passionate about the mission of Tree of Life—helping young people find their voice—and I have the privilege of supporting the families who love them.

As the Family Case Manager, I work with the entire family system because I believe healing happens best when everyone feels supported, understood, and connected. Families are complex, and when one person is struggling, it often impacts the whole home. My role is to help families create more stability, structure, and communication so home can feel safer and more manageable for everyone.

By integrating case management with therapeutic support, I partner with families to identify goals, access helpful resources, build routines that actually work, and develop skills that strengthen emotional regulation, connection, and resilience. I care deeply about meeting families where they are, honoring what they’ve been through, and helping them move forward in a way that feels realistic, supportive, and empowering.

I use a strengths-based approach that integrates Emotion-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Narrative Therapy to help individuals, couples, and families express themselves clearly, process emotions with more safety, and build healthier relationship patterns. At the heart of my work is supporting families in rebuilding trust, improving communication, and creating shared meaning together.

I am currently licensed in Utah as an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Public Health from Muhlenberg College and my Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from Lehigh University.

Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking, camping, running, and taking long walks with my husband and daughter—moments that continually remind me of the importance of presence, connection, and slowing down with the people who matter most. One of my favorite reminders, and something I return to often, is: “If you want to make the world a better place—go home and love your family.”

Kailey Markos, ACMHC

  • Favorite types of therapy: play therapy, expressive art therapy, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

“My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for my clients to express and explore their emotions, identify undesirable thoughts or actions that are keeping them from their maximum potential, and support them as they learn and apply essential skills for lasting change. I have worked with children and adolescents as a mental health professional over the last five years: two years in an intensive outpatient (day treatment) setting, two years in an inpatient behavioral health unit, and for the last year I had the opportunity to work for Weber School District serving six different schools providing group and individual counseling. I utilize a variety of interventions with my clients such as play therapy, expressive art therapy, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

I have two Bachelor of Science Degrees from Weber State University; the first is in Communication with an emphasis in Interpersonal and Family Communication and the second is in Psychology. I also received a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am excited to have the opportunity to further advance my skills as a therapist here at the Tree of Life Children’s Center!

When I am not in the office you can find me hanging out with my husband and our two cats, reading, crafting, or going on vacation.”

Kenzie Worrell, CSW

  • Works with: anyone 6 years old and up!
  • Specializes in: anxiety, Autism, behavioral/emotional dysregulation, but will work with anyone!
  • Favorite types of therapy: CBT, play therapy, and mindfulness

“From a young age I was always very social and enjoyed helping those around me. I loved making connections with people and knew I wanted to pursue a career where all of these things were possible. I began college at Utah State University, found the field of social work, and fell in love with its values. I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies in May of 2023. I then went on to obtain a Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University and graduated in August of 2024.

My experience working with children and families comes from a variety of settings. While in college at Utah State University, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at an in- home ABA therapy company working with children on the Autism Spectrum. I then took those skills and worked at an elementary behavior unit in Weber School District teaching children about emotional intelligence and behavior regulation. Most recently I worked for the Division of Child & Family Services as a Child Protective Services caseworker where I was able to work with children and families experiencing trauma.

I am passionate about working with children to help them learn and navigate the world around them as they find their voice and understand their emotions. It is my goal for every child and family I work with to feel valued and heard in our sessions! Outside of work you can find me spending time with my loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, and listening to country music.”
